Pastoral Care Committee

Our pastoral care experts can help! Our pastoral care experts can help!

The Pastoral Care Committee is established by the Tennessee Valley Presbytery to have an active, pastoral concern for the Teaching Elders of the TVP, to meet with churches and their pastors at their request or with their consent to provide advice, support, encouragement or to discuss any questions, concerns, or problems that have arisen in the course of congregational life and ministry together.

To this end, the Pastoral Care Committee reviews and makes recommendations regarding compensation guidelines for pastors, secures annual reports from TVP Licentiates and those Teaching Elders serving out-of-bounds, monitors Presbytery attendance of Teaching Elders and member congregations, and acts as a commission of Presbytery in approving transfers within the presbytery, changes of calls, designating teaching elders as honorably retired, and dissolving pastoral relations in case where the pastor and congregation formally concur.
